About Us

Smiley

Women eNews Kenya is a women’s daily online news and current affairs media service, our vision is building a Kenya where all women’s voices and experiences are heard by all, So, we love to hear what Kenyan ladies are doing, whether they be in corporate, politics, sports, college, school, university, abroad, wherever they are.

The eNews site provides up to date news and features on all national stories of the day, the stories that interest us are always about women and children. Smiley

According to Global Media Monitoring Project (2010), women feature in onlyabout a fifth of the world’s news headlines and just ten percent of all news stories.

In Kenya, thousands of stories about, by and for women are never told, this despite the fact that there has been a steady increase in the number of women professionals over the past few years, most mainstream press coverage continues to rely on men as experts in the fields of business, politics and economics

Our work is to challenge that approach and aim to level out the imbalance in women’s favour.

Our mission is to give a voice to the women whose stories and experiences of the world are all too often ignored.

Women eNews Kenya gives women a voice in two ways – by publishing stories that the mainstream press ignores; and by acting as a central point for stories that they do publish about women.

We do this by sourcing stories from Kenya News Agency, Freelance Journalists and Contributors, press agencies, charities, social justice organisations and Non Governmental Organisations advacing Women and Children welfare.

We also publish opinion pieces from external guest editors who have expertise in Women and Children issues.

Please send your stories and pictures to womenenews@gmail.com and if we use it, then we will send you a link to share with your fellow Kenyan ladies.

Women eNews Kenya is the definitive source of substantive news unavailable anywhere else in the mainstream media covering issues of particular concern to women.
