U.S. Talk Show Host Oprah Winfrey To Visit Kenya (For April Fools)

Nairobi, 30 March 2012 U.S. talk show host Oprah Winfrey arrives in the country this evening for a two day private visit to support the work of Women eNews Kenya .  

Oprah who is enroute to South Africa to witness progress in her Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa will be accompanied by 30 of her US viewers during her visit on Sunday 1st 2012 at the Women eNews Kenya offices located at the I&M Towers in Nairobi.

The American TV talk-show queen announced her visit last week after her premiere episode of the farewell season of her show.

During her visit to Women eNews Kenya offices this Sunday, Winfrey will stage a brief talk show interviewing Kenya’s Public Health Sanitation Minister Bethy Mugo.

“I wanted to kick off my 25th season in a big way and I’ve heard Kenya is the ultimate adventure,” Winfrey said.

“I and my team will be at Women eNews Kenya offices, , we will sample what they have been doing, we will shop curios and visit masai market,” Winfrey told the delirious audience.

“We’ll get up close with Kenyan girls and women, kick back on some of the world’s most talked about country after oil discovery and experience one of the seven wonders of the world – the Masai Mara.

The 30 audience members were also presented with another gift, a Motorola smartphone that Winfrey said was “water resistant, so if you drop it at the Masai Mara, no worries”.

Her specially-chosen audience of 300 “ultimate viewers” is already on the ground, all-expenses-paid holiday by celebrity pilot and Pulp Fiction actor John Travolta, CNN has reported.

“It’s one of the places I’ve always wanted to visit, and who better to take with me on this trip of a lifetime than some of my most loyal viewers.

“My team has been planning this trip for almost a year and we are so excited to go Down Under.”
