Woman’s Life squeezed out

Siaya, March 24, – A man in his early thirties has gone underground after allegedly strangling his wife to death over suspicion on infidelity in Ukwala division of Ugenya district.

The man name still withheld is said to have arrived back in the country  about two weeks ago from Southern Sudan  started accusing his wife of having affairs with  a  local teacher and a boda boda operator.

The man is said to have confronted the teacher last week whom he threatened to kill forcing the teacher to record a statement with the police at Ugunja police station.

On Tuesday night, the suspect strangled his wife using a telecommunication wire and hid her body under their bed before taking off in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The body of the dead woman was however discovered by an 8 year old boy who was sent to look for an iron box at his brother’s house by their father and went searching for it under the bed.

The boy raised an alarm on stumbling upon the body. The boy who is a younger brother to the suspect narrated the incident to his father who alerted the police.

Siaya deputy police boss Lanet Sili confirmed the incident adding that it took place at Masambua village in Ligega sub-location of Ugenya district.

Police have launched investigations over the matter.
